Resoconto di un anno un po’ particolare / Short account of an unusual year

I would like to say goodbye to this year with a kind of special post. I want to enclose what has been good and bad about these twelve months, and I hope that you’ll somehow get to know me a bit better this way, and what has been going on…

    Getting ready for Christmas #8 & #10

First of all: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you all had a beautiful day spent with your beloved ones :) I did, I’ve had such a wonderful lunch with all the family (btw, I’m feeling so full that I can hardly stand up from the chair!) and now, after a long and relaxing shower, I’m chilling at home, listening to some music and trying not to fall asleep on the computer. So I decided to post two of the entries for the challenge, combining day 8 and 10, since the manicure I wanted to feature for ‘the Christmas red‘ theme is also the one that I wore today, I hope you…

    Rimmel Space Dust ‘Total Eclipse’

I wanted this polish so badly, and today I finally found it on sale, so I just had to grab it…right? And after applying it, I’m even more glad that I picked it up, since this is probably the most gorgeous textured-polish I’ve ever seen! Its blackened base is filled with green-ish/silver glitters, and in some angles it has this beautiful duochrome effect, shifting from green to pink. The application was super easy, with your usual two coats you’re good to go, but I actually applied three this time, just to have an even more intense and deep look (the pictures are taken after only two coats, anyway). It dries…

NYC smooth skin BB creme 5 in 1 review

I’ve been using the NYC BB cream for quite a while now, and I’m able to give you my honest opinion about it. To start off with, what does this product claim to achieve? It says (I’m reading from the tube): Multi-action skin perfecting formula that provides 5 different actions in 1 quick step: – Helps protect skin – Pore minimizer – Erase skin imperfections, minimize fine lines – Smooths skin – Brightens skin for a luminous and natural looking make-up. What I think about it: Let’s start by saying that I am really liking this BB cream. I was using the Garnier BB cream before, then the Maybelline Fit…

Getting ready for Christmas #7: All I want for Christmas…

This wishlist is completely ridiculous, since I’ll never find these items under my Christmas tree, but let’s just pretend that I had a lot of money to spend on the most frivolous things, ok? So, these would be the gifts I would treat myself with: 1. The Yankee candle in the ‘sugared apple’ scent: I just smelled this in store and fell in love. Still, I don’t justify the insane price of these candles. I’ll probably get the small one soon, just because I really want my room to smell like this! 2. The Burberry Body fragrance is probably the most delicious perfume I’ve ever smelt! I’ve owned another Burberry…

Getting ready for Christmas #5: Blue and Silver

I’m not quite sure why I decided to go for a makeup look for this entry, since I don’t really like wearing blue on my eyes, but hey, it happened, and this is what I came up with! Don’t ask me how many shades of blue I used on my lids, because I’ve lost track after the first three, but that’s not even that relevant, since I’ve put some blue-silver-y eye shadow on half of the lids to cover up that weird mess I ended up with. Yap, this look is totally random and not Christmass-y at all (actually, I think it has quite a Seventies vibe, don’t you?), but…

Getting ready for Christmas #4: Red and gold

Day 4: Probably the most classic Christmas-combo ever, red & gold, but I could not skip it since it’s also one of my favourites for this time of the year! I could have created a makeup look with this theme, but then I remembered that I still had to show you a few Orly polishes from the Secret Society collection, and two of them were actually a red creme polish and the other one is a gold glitter, how perfect! :D So here they are: the red is called ‘Risque encounter‘* and the gold one ‘Lavish bash‘*. ‘Risque encounter‘ is your bright cool-toned red, almost orange-y looking in some lights;…

Getting ready for Christmas #3: Under the mistletoe

For today’s theme, Under the mistletoe, I decided to create a makeup look, since I didn’t want to go for the obvious choice of choosing Orly’s ‘Meet me under the mistletoe’ nail polish (which was actually my first option XD). I got inspired by the colour green, and decided to pair it with a golden eye shadow :) I initially used a red lip gloss to complete the look, but in the end I went for a more neutral colour, since I thought that the heavy green eyes were already enough, but I still posted a picture with the red lip colour to show you the true mistletoe-look :D I…
